Laboratory of ollare stone and linen
Among the old traditional activities of low Bregaglia, importance is given to the excavation and processing of ollare stone. In the atelier-museum, it is possible to admire objects created with great workmanship by a craftsman including "laveggi" (cooking recipients made of ollare stone). In the same building there is also a linen-weaving laboratory where mats are produced as well as fabrics of fine workmanship. <<

Palazzo Vertemate Franchi
This mansion is situated in the village of Cortinaccio at Prosto di Piuro, just two kilometres from Chiavenna. It is a beautiful Renaissance masterpiece immersed in an enchanting natural environment; the walls and ceilings are filled with frescos representing grand scenes of Greek mythology, the inlaid work of the ceilings and "stüe" are the wonders of this mansion. <<
